Having lofted and cut the hull planks from a sheet of ply, this chapter describes how you join the lengths of cut planks together when you need them to be longer than the sheet of ply will allow. These planks will then form the hull of the boat and the next step will be to stitch them together.

This video and the following SemperFIsh N Dive Boat Project videos are a documentation of all the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears that I, along with my wife Selena, Grandpa Cliff, Uncle Gary, Dad (Big Duane), Steve Patton, Todd Lacey, and Mike Cooper (who is a cheat, liar, and thief) , have put into this boat to restore it and bring it new life, breathing saltwater on her again. This project started in June 2007 and is taking about a year and a half to complete. It will be launced out of MacDill Air Force Base Marina and be ported there while we look for a house near Clearwater, hopefully witha convienent launch site nearby (like in the backyard). Please watch the videos in order as I post them to feel the true journey from start to finish. Alot of weekends have been sacrificed to make this dream a reality, and the best part is it is paid for. Thanks Grandpa for keeping this old boat in such great shape. Part One of the SemperFIsh N Dive chronicles shows the rebuilding of the bilge sides, reinforcement of the flooring and bracing if the bilge area, painting the bilge, the buffing and waxing of the hull, and the rebuilding of the hatches. There are many more details that went on while these tasks were taking place. Enjoy good music and the slide show. Duane
