Boat building plans free?

I’m looking for free boat building plans. I have always wanted to build my own wooden boat, but never really had time from work and money as well. Now, I would love to see what is really required and involved in building a wooden boat. Any suggestions on what kind and where I can find plans on building a wooden boat. Nothing too flashy or expensive ones, but something that I can fish from and look up at the stars.

See, if you are looking for free plans, you’ll end up wasting your time and money on resources, because free plans will never deliver what they claim for and building a wooden boat will require practically possible and functionality based boat building plans. So i would urge you to go with professional boat building plans that are available on the internet websites. You can also find boat building plans in your nearby warehouse or furniture retailers as well.

Building a boat is an art and it has to be solid and should serve you practical results, otherwise building a weak boat will always end up in frustration, after all hard work and efforts you pour in, so i’ll advice you to go with professional building plans only, even if you have to spend few more bucks, still worth it.

Where can I find plans and supplies on building a boat?

I have always wanted to build a boat, but never have the time or the money. Now, I would love to see what is really involved in building a boat. Any suggestions on what kind and where I can find plans on building a boat. Nothing too flashy, but something that I can fish from and look up at the stars.

There are a ton of sites out there that have boat building plans, kits, etc.
One of the best is at the link below. They have all kinds of plans for small to large, sail to power, paddle, row, and everything in-between – even jet-skis. I have built several of their boats and they are great people.

The main thing is this – if you have never built a boat before – you WILL have questions. I guarantee it. These people will help you long after the sale is made. Either by email or phone, they will bet back to you ASAP to answer your questions and help you finish your boat building project. (Free plans of course, won’t do that – and are generally not even worth the paper they are copied on, much less what they charge you for "postage & handling".

However, "done right" building a boat is not a "cheap" endeavor. Boat building can be a great project, and a great learning experience. . . but it is not the "cheapest" way to get your hands on a good "small" boat. Those, you can find on the used market for less then you can build new.

Can anybody help me with CAD software for boat designs and building?

I have skills in fibreglass application, plug and mold making and so I need a helper to ensure that everything is ok. I want to build a boat able to ferry 40 persons across the lake and do not have money for buying CAD software or any other.

I haven’t got any idea how good this is – I use a Mac, and this does not appear to be available for them.

But it does not seem to be too costly and it looks very competent indeed. At:
