How can i build a boat out of foil?

I need to make a boat out of aluminum foil and popsicle sticks, what are some ways i can make my boat not sink, also it needs to hold up pennies.

High surface area in proportion to it’s volume.

Flat bottom piece cut out, all one piece for bottom , cut a square out, fold up sides around it to make a box like shape, all one piece , no seems or cuts.

Then simply add on to the boat. Make sure that it isnt too top heavy by filling its hull with water.

Make a large square frame out of the sticks and put the foil around it making sure to leave enough foil over the edges to make it elevated to prevent water getting on and causing it to sink.

You can make things with aluminum foil VERY easily. Just take a piece of foil as long as maybe 1 and 1 half long. Tape the two pieces together. (For the measuring, you can use a ruler, better yet measuring tape.) It’s pretty much like dough, actually, it’s even easier than dough. Form the boat out of the foil. When finished doing that, stick the popsicle stick wherever it needs to be placed. If you want, you may use something to hold it {them} up. The main idea to make the boat float with pennies inside, is to use the LEAST amount of foil. Test and see what happens! I hope this works!

In theory if take a single sheet of foil (NO HOLES!) and form it into a canoe shape. The only thing you have a problem with then is stability.

    That’s the simple idea.

More complex would be to build a frame using the sticks, I’d give it an out-rigger for stability to and then cover it in foil, much like skins would have been used a long time ago.

    Either way should work.

Make it so that the bottom, the base is big and sides/walls are not so big…
use only foil for the sides and for the bottom/base use popsicle stickes covered in aluminum foil…
Make sure there are no wholes

lol we did that in my class! there weren’t any popsicle sticks, but i just folded up the edges and left the bottom flat. held up plenty of pennies, as for the popsicle sticks i have no idea unless you can use glue
