where can I get a sailing boat project for as little money as possible?
I have very little cash but lots of enthusiasm, and want to get on the water soon
by the way, Im in the UK, I dont fancy sailing from canada in a cheap boat!!
Try a city marina the may be able to help or let you help them and gain some experience.

id be looking for a sunfish,they would be about 8oo.00 and as boats go thats cheap. 1 man sailor or two.

Norm Abrham . New yankee workshop did a little sail boat project. check his web site. they sell plans and instructions.
the show made it look like a lot of fun to build and a blast to sail.

Contact the Ensign Class Association at http://www.ensignclass.com
A $15 Associate Membership will get you access to the boat list. Ensign is a 22.5 ft, 3000 full keel (attached rudder) day sailer. It draws 3 feet. It is almost unsinkable, easy to single hand and trailerable. When you vsit the webside click on the fleet links; many of them have pictures of the boats under sail.

Plenty stuck in the mud in the UK. Drive around the Marinas and flats and estuaries. Also search the net for Salvage Boats…Bent Boats…Used Boats
And UK listings on ebay motors at http://www.motors.ebay.com …click on boats. then sailboats then narrow search to your area…which may be slim, but worth a try.

Previously owned hulls seized for debt or otherwise unclaimed are usually auctioned by port authorities.
See Harbormaster to obtain regional policy. Second
option is understudy position at school where vessels are built for shipwright education; some specialize in small
boat projects. Third option is touring shipbreaker stores
on southeast shoreline of India.
