Cooking Crab in a Drift Boat

Ron Wakita of Reliable Guide and Charters had a plan: Let’s go catch some Dungeness Crab in the Douglas Channel, cook them on the drift boat while we fish for Chinook (King)Salmon in the Kitimat River. GREAT plan, I said. I cut the video after the crab feast. We did hook into two Chinook but lost them both. We did land a Pink.

    Wow nice catch!!!!
Here in Sweden we fish crabs in similar ways.
What do you use for bate inside of the crab-cage?Is it prepared in any certain way? Also, for how long do you leave the cages in the water?

Here we prefer using rotten fish-guts, which has been left in a bucket of salt and water for a few months at 4-12 degrees Celcius. That stuff makes the crabs go crazy!! The cages are left in the water for a week at a time.
