BMW-Oracle Engineer Discusses America’s Cup Yacht Design
Feb. 8 (Bloomberg) — Dimitri Despierres, a wing sail engineer for the BMW-Oracle sailing team, talks about this year’s America’s Cup competition and the technology behind his team’s yacht.
Larry Ellison’s BMW-Oracle team is competing against Ernesto Bertarelli’s Alinghi team in a contest that has been marked by legal challenges and scared off sponsors. The start of the best-of-three regatta in Valencia, Spain, was delayed this morning because of a lack of wind. Despierres talks with Bloomberg’s Linzie Janis.
