I have some questions about boat building and construction…?
I’m just curious for what it takes to construct a small sailboat and the hours of labor involved. Is it worth the time? Can I build a boat inexpensively? Will I be able to get a boat license on a boat that I have constructed as a hobbyist? Any help or suggestions would be gr8t…thx
note: I am a fairly experienced woodworker and I have a full shop of equip.
building a small wooden sailboat is a lot easier today with modern epoxies and plywood.
google search for "plywood sailboats" will yield a lot of good boats.

as far as registering you new home built boat, in WA state all i needed was a rather large pile of receipt for epoxy, fiberglass, wood, paint design, brushes, rollers etc. the state just wanted to verify that sales tax was paid ont the project. they will issue a title, hin # and registration for the boat. (i had pictures showing stages of construction also)
hope this helps
