My friends and I are currently building our first boat. I am tasked to build the interior.
I asked my friend who works at a cruise ship and he said that they use Westech Aerosol HSEA on their interior seating. I also used this adhesive when I made some furniture at my house. The price is reasonable and it surely provides fast tacking and permanent bond of materials. HSEA is waterproof which makes it suitable for boat building.

My boat will be only 2′ or 3′ long, but I can take plans for larger boats and scale down the dimensions.
A proa (outrigger sailing canoe) is a very simple type of sail boat that is also very fast and very seaworthy. The Polynesians, Micronesians, Maori and Hawaiians had explored and settled the islands in the south Pacific centuries before the Europeans got there and proas were what they used. They still use them to fish and to go from island to island. It is the most boat that you can build with the least amount of materials.
A riwuit is a toy proa that south Pacific island kids still build and race (some adults are still kids at heart). You can find plans and photos in the first two source links below.
It can go 5 miles in about 20 minutes, that’s 15 mph, which is fast for just about any sailboat, and this is just a toy. Don’t let it go on a big lake with an offshore breeze or you might never see it again.
A wa’apa is a proa made from plywood. You can see how they are made in the third source link below.
There are problems with building a big version of a proa. You will have to deal with the laugh wrinkles around your eyes from having so much fun. Also, people will always be asking to borrow it and if you don’t lock it up, it might get stolen.
