Type of boat to build if stranded on an island?
Author: admin
If you were stranded on a 4×5 mile tropical island in an unknown area of the pacific and you wanted to find civilization, what kind of boat would you build? And what kind of boat would you build if your friend was stranded with you so you could have a 2 man crew to control it?
Assuming you have basic tools , like a machete, and native materials (palms, vines, mangrove, etc,) and a bit of fabric (clothing), and the ability to make a fire, then a Polynesian dugout canoe with outrigger and sail .

Also, if more heat is applied to the boat would it go faster?
Off hand, I would say you may be able to increase the size of your Boiler. Water Intake and Output pipe size. May try a different hull design. Increasing Boiler temperature may help, but, I thinking more in the Water Pipes. This about all I know.
I want to build a really simple 2 man boat with my mate for fishing on the bay. It needs to be stable and be really practical. If anyone has any plans could you please tell me.
google free boat plans. there is lots of them.

How do you build a cardboard boat?
Author: admin
We’re trying to build an artificial boat for the book fair. We’re using cardboard and poster board. Post ideas. Por Favore. Gratzie!
I built some by making some octagonal ducts as insulation to keep the water from getting in.
Well, first of all you need lots of cardboards. Second, you need a water proof glue. Something to cut with.
It’s important that you keep the bottom of the boat flat, or it will tip over. Allow for enough depth to displace the weight of everyone that’s going to be in the boat.
Here’s a site that shows all the steps taken to build the boat:
http://www.rotaryriverrally.com/documents/buildAboat.pdf
The only thin is that their panels were too thin. I’d suggest that you make yourselfs some kind of cardboard insulation in between the card boards. Especially for the bottom to give it some strength to be able to hold people up.
The boat should be 0.5 meters long, made of wood or metal, and be able to carry at least 6 kilograms. No styrofoam is allowed. It should have a propeller and of course, an engine for it to work. The boat must also have a sail for design. It should also be fast, because we are going to have a boat race, and the winner will get a cash price. Please help… we need to finish the boat by october 9. Thanks!
P.S. I will not ride in the boat… I will just put a 6 kg weight (such as a set of metal weights) inside the boat.
If you know of a site that shows boat designs or blueprints for free, please also state them, ok?
Thank You!
boat should be 0.5 meters long (19"), made of wood or metal, and be able to carry at least 6 kilograms.(payload in addition to it own weight a motorcycle battery could be a portion of the 6 kg.) . It should have a propeller and of course, an engine for it to work.(Use an airplane electric motor and prop on this airboat) The boat must also have a sail for design.( A mast would be no problem , make a sail and furl it on the deck securely) It should also be fast, ( OH YES)because we are going to have a boat race, and the winner will get a cash price.(It is always nice to be the winner) . I will just put a 6 kg weight (such as a set of metal weights) inside the boat.
Use the general shape and general dimensions of boat below but buy some 4×4 balsa blocks and glue them together make it a catamaran with balsa sponsons
Use an air rudder for steerage. Contact your local RC plane hobbist, you may be able to borrow 90% of the things to put it together.
Alternative make the sponson out of 2 liter soda bottles like 6 to a sponson. Duct and straping tape and some alum rod to tie them together.
Good luck.
