What is a good design idea for a styrofoam boat?
Author: admin
It is has to be no more than a foot long and about 3 inches wide. It also has to be powered by a mini motor.
Beasley, just get a piece of styrofoam about 12" long and about 3" wide, cut a point on one end. Use some smaller blocks in the middle to give it some character. Add a little flag or a few pennants. If you want to paint it, use latex paint. Do not use spray paint. Mount a mini-motor on the other, and you are in business.
Have fun.

Dan

It needs to fit inside 36cm 31cm 25cm box. It needs to be constructed using hand tools, the boat must float, even when more than 200g of sand was dropped in. Thank you so much, if you help :]
its not a boat if it doesnt float
p.s.- Home Depot hasa classes fore that on saturday just saying
I love entertaining, and obviously I’ll be seeing a lot of other R&S atheists in Hell, so I was wondering what type of boat I should plan on taking with me to Hell?
Maybe a larger houseboat with a deck on top for dancing and mingling? It would have to be large enough to carry two or three jet skis…
What do you think?
whatever it is make sure it has jet propulsion, for obvious reasons a propeller will do nothing in a lake of fire, but sucking in flames and spitting them out will make you go VROOOOM!
I presume i would need a btec electrical engineering qualification first as learndirect tells me..anythin other specific courses?
I dont really have any good gcse grades so i obviously have to start from scratch…
I need to know what i need to do this as a career…
Be specific please. Need to hear from people that know.
Help would be very much appreciated…thanks.
I am a boatbuilder.
I found a boatbuilder with high standards and apprenticed under him.
We rarely hire people out of boatbuilding schools (unless schooled in Europe… sorry but the Europeans have superior training) because there is too much stuff taught that has little relevance in the real world of boatbuilding.
Find someone who does what you want to do and go work for them… see what they require.
Good luck.
How do I build a boat?

How can I build an easy, inexpensive 2 person kayak or boat without having to buy plans. I need simple plans or ideas.

I need to make a boat that will hold the most weight, but there are a few guidelines:
1)It must fit in a 15cmX15cmX15cm cube.
2)It must have a mass of at least 15 grams.
3)It must be able to hold weights within it, and the weights must be open to the air.
4)No commercially produced container or foam may be used.
The objective is to have the best ratio of weight of boat to weight held before water goes into the boat or touches the weights. Any ideas?
A 15×15x15cm cube of balsawood open at the top, with a plastic bag attached around the outside.
Cubical is a stupid shape for a real boat, for a whole lot of reasons, but for the sort of challenge you’re facing it does just fine as long as you’re careful about placing the masses in and don’t tip it over.
If you’re not sure about your ability to safely load it, make the bottom third of it like a step pyramid or something, to ensure the first few weights go in the exact center. Specifics depend on what weights will be used.
THE BOAT MUST FLOAT.
Very easy. Get some recycled cardboard and duct tape and shape it into a boat.

I’m just curious for what it takes to construct a small sailboat and the hours of labor involved. Is it worth the time? Can I build a boat inexpensively? Will I be able to get a boat license on a boat that I have constructed as a hobbyist? Any help or suggestions would be gr8t…thx
note: I am a fairly experienced woodworker and I have a full shop of equip.
building a small wooden sailboat is a lot easier today with modern epoxies and plywood.
google search for "plywood sailboats" will yield a lot of good boats.

as far as registering you new home built boat, in WA state all i needed was a rather large pile of receipt for epoxy, fiberglass, wood, paint design, brushes, rollers etc. the state just wanted to verify that sales tax was paid ont the project. they will issue a title, hin # and registration for the boat. (i had pictures showing stages of construction also)
hope this helps
how do you build a metal boat?
Author: admin
i need to build a boat out of metal. that can hold 50 pennies and no water will go in for 10 seconds. but i also have to use newton’s third law of motion to make it go 1.5 meters. any ideas?
ooh all great answers but how do i make it go?
if I had to…triple wrap aluminum foil around a coat-hanger frame.
use pliars and wrap the wire around the edges so the aluminum foil is supported with slats…like a bed frame., try a few dirrerent shapes wider probably better
